Outfit details: Dungarees Dress | Black Top with Lace Trim | Sunglasses | Watch I posted a picture of me on Instagram earlier this week and I’m actually writing this post and trying to keep up with the comments on it (which I totally failed on. Thank you everyone for your lovely comments I am still working on replying but I got a bit lost in them all. If I haven’t replied I am so grateful for everything everyone said. I read them all!). I love writing longer more meaningful comments on IG because it’s such an instant connection with people I might… Read More
DIY Dyed Marbled Concrete Planter Stands for all your Succulents
One of my biggest vices is new technology that takes handmade to the next level. I’m a big believer in combining the two areas to create easier and more accessible processes for makers and small businesses. Which is why as soon as I saw the FormBox from Mayku I knew I had to have one!! If you haven’t seen this awesome little vacuum former yet where have you been? It’s already stormed way past it’s Kickstarter goal and it’s easy to see why. Having the ability to create moulds, packaging and plastic shapes that can be used for lighting, decorations… Read More
DIY Ladder Plant Stand for Making a Compact Garden
There are a number of things I love about my little rented flat. The fact that I’m never more than 15 steps away from anything I want or need (ie. the fridge), the big 70’s style, full wall windows that let in light all day long, the winter warmth and summer coolness. We have everything we need here… well, almost everything. The only thing I miss about living in a house is having a garden. Now, there are a number of reasons for this. You can’t just pop into the garden half dressed to figure out what the weather is… Read More
How to create a Garden when you don’t have a Garden!
Today, for the first time in months I rode through my local park on the way home from the studio. The weather was warm and the blossom on the trees is in full bloom. But the most notable difference from the last time I sped through here were the flowers. And instead of peddling hard to get home and back inside I slowed right down to take in the beautiful colour combinations all around me. I was so absorbed I almost ran down several children in the process. (Don’t worry, no little ones were harmed in the making of this… Read More
DIY White & Gold Beads Tutorial
While I was testing out a few products for June’s We Make Collective kits I thought I’d just whip up (well, not quite whip. More like work up) a quick video to give you a sneak peak of some of the products inside the kit. I know you guys always like to see a more detailed list of what’s inside the box, but we’re still not giving everything away for those of you that like surprises! I knew I wanted the kit to be about finishing the clay as well as all the tools and techniques to use it. So… Read More
50 Must do DIY Projects from April
I pretty much live DIY/Crafts/Making 24/7. I can spot a craft project from a mile off and I’m always interested in how things are done and finding new things I can make for my home. Luckily enough I have an amazing network around me that helps me easily keep up with the online creative blogging community but even then I can miss out on some posts. I’m starting out new Must Do DIY Projects to round up my 50 favourite DIY’s from each month. Many you might have seen but hopefully there will be some gems in here that you… Read More
DIY Hanging Suede Tassels
If you haven’t noticed I have a thing for faux suede, especially in blush. I saw this fabric and immediately bought several metres without a single project in mind, but I knew it would be one that would spark my imagination and do all the work for me. Turns out I was right – this fabric is not just a pretty (sur)face! I’ve already made these book covers and I have plans for more projects that fabric. I wanted to squeeze these tassels in because it’s been a while since my last tassel post and I was tassel cravings! So I… Read More
DIY Lollipop Stick Hooks
I always need more hooks. If it’s for my latest hanging planter (yes, I probably have too many but really, can you have too many?) or to keep my jewellery at easy reach (instead of tangled in a mess). Hooks are always useful! I’ve been making these DIY lollipop stick hooks for my studio and I’m addicted. They’re really easy to create and I want to make hundreds just so I can decorate them in different ways. It’s really satisfying painting the lovely light wood with white, gold and flashes of colour. I want to try some darker blues with the gold… Read More
