DIY Mark Jacobs inspired Pretzel Earrings

I’m absolutely loving foodie accessories at the moment. These DIY pretzel earrings are inspired by a gorgeous Mark Jacobs earring design that are now sold out! You can’t even buy them anymore. Fear not, because you can whip these little treats up in no time at all for a fraction of the price. Always a bonus! Then team them up with this Donut Necklace for the perfect sweet and savoury combo.. a little overboard, really? Ok. Alternate them instead. You can find out how to make these earrings using the tutorial I wrote over at Brit+Co. YUM!!

DIY Bright Tipped Faux Antler

I’m a little late to the antler party. Living with the vegan boy means decorating the house with animal parts (for want of a better word) is pretty much a no go. Even though I always loved the natural aesthetic of stag antlers and animal hide it weighed on my conscious and it’s just something I don’t think I could live with but when it comes to making faux animal accessories I’m totally on board! But I’m guessing that doesn’t surprise anyone here, and while we’re at it why not make it a little more colourful? Materials: Air dry clay… Read More

Vegan Frosted Doughnut Recipe

The boy has been dropping enough hints about how he’s been craving doughnuts recently. As a vegan it’s not as easy for him to just pop out and get his sugar fix so I like to bake him (and as a by product, myself) treats every now and then. But in the process I’ve discovered vegan baking is not so easy, (ie, the birthday cake of 2014 fiasco. Flattest/savoury/avocado cake ever… he still ate it, bless him) but I’ve actually amazed myself with these vegan doughnuts so I thought I’d share the recipe with you guys. Is the correct spelling… Read More

DIY Folded Clay Ring Dish

Today is the first day of my Mollie Makes takeover! I’m already having a great time grammin’ away some of the things I love the most and Pinning a huge list of beautiful and useful ways to get organised for 2015! So my latest DIY post over at Design*Sponge today could not be timed more perfectly! These folded clay ring dishes are perfect for keeping the smaller things organised and close to hand when you need them. I’m currently using them for jewellery storage and a safe (and easy to find) place to put my keys. No more panic in the… Read More

Fall For DIY takes over Mollie Makes!

I love sharing my inspirations, ideas and general quick creative thoughts with basically anyone who has an attention span long enough to listen, which is why I’m a big fan of any platform that makes these easier to both communicate and to digest. Of all the social media platforms I use on a daily basis Pinterest and Instagram are by far my favourites, so I don’t know if you can imagine how excited I am to be asked to take over Mollie Makes Pinterest and Instagram accounts later this week! Starting on the 22nd January we’ll be Pinning and posting over on… Read More

Fall For DIY & Mollie Makes | Donut Necklace

Oh that Friday feeling. Like a warm hug, reassuring us that everything is going to be ok. Well, for the next couple of days anyway. Like every other blogger and indie business owner I know my weekends are still a pretty productive time, but rather than wishing the days away it’s a chance for me to work on creating great things to share with you awesome lot! Something I’ve been dying to share with you all is my latest DIY project with Mollie Makes Magazine. DONUTS ON NECKLACES!! I had so much fun making these, deciding on my icing colours… Read More

DIY Watercolour Tableware

I’ve got to admit I’ve never had a traditional dinner party before. It seems like that’s some sort of omission of guilt. I’m not a real blogger. I don’t know how to style a table! I’ve had friends over for dinner of course, but it’s always buffet style, grab what you want off my mismatched plates, find a seat and dig in. Who wants a Bloody Mary? I don’t know whether it’s my 30’s kicking in but I want to give my guests a little more. A beautiful table and fancy cutlery perhaps, a luscious centre piece and many, many… Read More

Simple Skills | Teddy Bear Pom Poms

Do you remember making pom poms as a kid. Wrapping wool around those cardboard donuts for an hour. Trying to push the ball through that tiny hole 500 times was enough to put you off after the first pom, which meant many projects went bust before they really started. So when I saw these pom pom makers popping up all over the place I was pretty keen to get my hand on one (or two) and I wasn’t disappointed! The pom pom maker combined with this thick, raw wool makes whipping up furry little balls so speedy I’m a little… Read More
