I bought this tumbled ceramic chip from a little shop in St Augustine, Florida just over a year ago now whilst I was on holiday. I liked the smooth edges and subtle colour. Now I’ve moved house and finally have a space to work in I have rediscovered some little gems hidden in the masses of tat I have managed to collect over the years. I have big plans to ‘sort’ and organise it all. A bit overwhelming, but my brain is ticking over with DIY ideas and of course, tutorials! But for now, lets get back to this one…. Read More

DIY// Neon Pink Pom Pom
This woolly hat has got me through a number of winters now. It’s like an old friend coming out of the cupboard each year when the weather starts to turn. But, after years of use it has started to get a bit tired and scruffy. Time for an update! Lets add a neon pink pom pom to the mix of course. There are loads of different ways to make pom poms. I had this handle pom pom maker stashed in my haberdashery draw but if you search for DIY pom poms on Pinterest you can find a way to suit… Read More
DIY// Tassel Beaded Bracelet
I’m a fashion bore. I spend an unhealthy amount of time reading about and researching fashion but I am naturally compelled to play it safe. As a general rule I’ll only ever buy neutral coloured or dark clothing. My staple jumpers, dresses and jeans are all in black, white and navy blue shades. Although this gives me hundreds of outfit combinations, it can, at times get a bit dull. Black is the ultimate colour for style, but where’s the fun in that? So, I turn to accessories. This is where I can give my look a unique twist using accents… Read More
DIY// Pink Teddy Fur Clutch Bag
I know what you’re thinking. Who doesn’t need a pink, teddy bear fur, clutch bag right? But seriously, I actually think I do, but I’m not sure I want to fork out for what is absolutely a passing fad, who’s novelty I’ll tire of …. So what else is there to do but start sewing? Here’s how I did it. 1. Cheap colourful fur is readily available at most fabric stores. The fur I got was long haired but I wanted a shorter look. So I back combed it, and trimmed it down. This gets a bit messy. I felt… Read More
DIY// Tartan Buttons
I remember tartan buttons from my childhood. I’m having a hard time recalling the item of clothing they did up, but I remember the buttons. My sister gave me a lot of her crafts supplies when she started baking more cakes and after moving house a few weeks ago I’ve finally had chance to sort through and start using it. I’ve never covered buttons before, but with these self cover button and the self cover tool it was a piece of cake… ahem. I took the left over fabric from this skirt and made some buttons. Instructions: 1. Cut out a… Read More
Inspire// Tartan
It’s here… I’ve been awaiting tartan for some time now. About a year ago I bought a second hand, ankle length, tartan skirt from a charity shop after a ‘tip off’ from Vogue Magazine with DIY in mind. I’ve been so close to taking it back to said charity shop in the two house moves since then, but it’s a hardy piece of fabric; it has stuck it out and is now coming into its own. The skirt itself is slightly on the larger side and has a solid lining making it both heavy and baggy. Bad combination. So it… Read More
DIY// Fuchsia Stone Bracelet
Pink has been creeping it way back onto the catwalk and back into our hearts. Fur bags, pink camel coats, baby pink t-shirts and magenta skirts are not for the faint hearted, but if you want to grab a slice of the action and show off your girly side in a more subtle way why not try some pink statement jewellery? Instructions: 1. Poke the eyepin through the semi precious stone bead. Using the round nose pliers turn the pointed end into a loop. 2. Split the chain into two sections. 3. Use the jump rings to attach the chain… Read More
