As a creative blogger I’m always hunting out that new design trend or idea for inspiration. But I’ve noticed in recent years how the objects that have inspired me have changed and evolved. My focus has shifted from prioritising how an item looks, to how each item in my home is functional and useful.

Great design to me means combining these two (well, three really) areas and making sure everything in my home looks great, performs well and is environmentally sound. I chose the Simplicity design in Natural from three different designs that come in four different colours. And then proceeded to spend about a day picking out the best storage combination from the many you can choose from! I’ve finally decided on an ottoman with two large drawers. Plenty of space for those extra blankets and cushions!

Ok, so we have storage space, but that’s not the most important part of choosing your bed. In reality this comes down to comfort. Even if the bed itself looks amazing that’s not going to help you sleep at night (ok, maybe it will just a little).

My bed is currently in my studio. And guys I wanted to give you an honest review so I decided to have a little sleepover… Yes that’s right, I spent the night at work, all in the line of duty. I was a little bit nervous about this. My office building is an old factory and it can be a little bit creepy walking the halls at night. But luckily the mattress was so comfortable I fell asleep almost instantly and slept straight through.

I have to admit I’ve had a few daytime naps after I’ve been working late the night before (I mean, I have a bed in the studio. It’s too comfortable to resist!) and I am very excited about moving the bed home where I can sleep on it every night!
