Reason no. 546 I’m meant for a hotter climate: Sandals are my absolute favourite summer shoe. I love them. They remind me of beaches and holidays and sunny walks, but alas, we live in time where a sturdier shoe is sometimes required. Loafers. These are a shoe that will protect you from surprise weather conditions and look awesome at the same time. I’ve sort of fallen in love with these Crystal Embellished Leather Loafers from No. 21 and I love them even more because I can DIY them! Here’s what you will need: Loafers Rhinestone Shapes Drops Squares Triangles E6000… Read More
DIY Paper Bag Clutch
I’ve got a confession to make. I had an ulterior motive for my How To tutorial this week. It was my attempt at easing myself into this clutch tutorial. I’ve been meaning to share this DIY with you for a long time now. I’ve made this bag in leather and I love it so much I wanted a softer version for the summer. I think this bag would look fantastic in lighter colours, but I wasn’t quite brave enough… this time. It’s also a great way to use up off cuts of old fabrics (you know this is high on my… Read More
DIY Wedding Head Dress
One of the greatest things about having a DIY blog is that I can totally get away with playing dress up and trying out things I might not usually have a need for in everyday life. I mean, if my boyfriend caught me dressed up in a wedding tiara… well, that friends episode comes to mind. The one with the girls in wedding dresses. You know it. It doesn’t end well. But thanks to this tutorial I get to feel (just a little bit) like a princess for the day (I wore this tiara way longer than I needed to for… Read More
How to Make All the Zipper Pouches
I’m off to a great start with my new de-cluttering way of life. I’ve decided to focus on craft supplies first. My motto, use them or lose them (well, not so much the lose them part. Lets not go that far). My first port of call. The ever growing fabric stash. It’s insane. This unicorn fabric is from a dress I had 10 years ago. This is a typical find in my fabric hoard. I loved the fabric, but not the dress so much, so I’ve (finally) made it into a new make up bag instead. I’ve also used the… Read More

Be Happy with Where You Are
The last couple of weeks were, if nothing else, emotional. There’s been death, and new life, reunited family and heart break, fantastic opportunities and late night stresses. Favours and failures, and amazing surprises from unexpected events. This was not just two weeks worth of events right here. We’re talking months of my usual day to day life happening in the last fourteen days, so getting the chance to head out to the park in the sun and take pretty pictures of flowers just seemed like the slow paced, reflective activity I needed. The weather here is so erratic and just a week… Read More
