DIY Faux Ceramic Glazed Beads

My love of clay continues. I’m thinking of writing a pop up disclaimer for the blog. “Warning. High percentage of clay based projects alert. Proceed with caution.” After this polymer clay tutorial today we have an air dry clay tutorial coming up on Thursday and then I promise I will be mixing up the materials for a few DIYs I’m pretty excited about! But for today lets continue with the faux ceramic look. I love this faux glaze technique I’ve discovered and it’s unbelievably simple. I can’t believe it took me this long to figure it out! I made my… Read More

Styling the Seasons | New Habits

The idea of a new start is always so appealing. It’s why we make new years resolutions and why I think Easter is still such a popular holiday even to the less religious of us (well, that and the promise of giant chocolate eggs of course!) The idea of a new period of time that will miraculously cure us of all our bad habits is appealing but really I think we all know that to realistically change something we have to put in the effort. That’s why this Easter I’m finally posting my first Styling the Seasons post!! I’ve been… Read More

DIY Bunny Mani

Have you ever seen that Youtube video of rabbit island? Hundred of bunnies running at/too you. Apparently there is one lone white bunny on the island that all the other bunnies love and know is different. Like a wise old bunny leader. These nails remind me of those rabbits, all running about and playing together. I have to go one day! So you can celebrate the day we all wait for the Easter bunny to come by taking a small break from eating easter treats and treating your nails to a bunny mani! Materials Base Nail Colour | Top Coat… Read More

And whether it’s the sweet chocolate kind or the scrambled sort you like for breakfast, the Internet has got your back. Just a brief scroll through Pinterest and I’m planning ahead for next year! But back here in the moment I’ve collected some of my favourite easy Easter DIY projects from this year. Check them out in the links below. DIY Sofa Recover | Part Two

Last week I posted the first instalment of what was deemed an adventurous project to recover my sofa. Me, the ever optimist went in guns blazing. This project was the push I needed to finally get my second hand sofa recovered and I was absolutely going to get it done in time for this post. Nothing was stopping me. Yes, I was on it. Well that is until life happened. Actually one little furry life happened. But more on that later. If you missed the first part of this post last week it covered choosing your fabrics, measuring the amount… Read More

Make It Easy | Anthro Opal Strand Necklace

Materials Opal Strand | Clasp and Extension Chain I think this might just be the easiest Make It Easy project I’ve ever done. It’s just as well. I’m currently taking a weekend break to Lyon and have no time for making anything more complicated than this Anthro Opal Strand Necklace. To make it all you have to do is tie the strand onto the clasp and extension chain (one on each side) and you have your own $228 necklace for about 1/8th of the price. (AND it’s not even available in the UK.. It’s ok. We don’t need it!) I’m going… Read More

Fall For DIY | Air Dry Clay Platter

As we speak we’re on the way to Lyon! I’m taking a long weekend break to rejuvenate and actually get outside in the fresh air. I’ve got a few blog posts lined up for you this weekend including a French style Wear & Share but before all that I thought this DIY Air Dry Clay Platter was pretty relevant. Brie anyone? I made this platter for my most recent post on Design*Sponge. I’m really enjoying food styling at the moment and not only because you get to sample the food once you’re done. Although that part is pretty enjoyable. (who… Read More

DIY Hanging Easter Egg Planter

After treating myself to some really delicious duck eggs to make this Spicy Duck Egg Shaksouka last week I thought I would make use of the beautiful opaque white shells and create more spring decor from them. Remember planting cress in shells and then drawing faces on them? When the cress grew it looked hilariously like hair! Well this is the grown up (not as much fun) version of that. But I still love it even if it I can’t give these guys a hair cut. Cut 3 lengths of cord each 3 metres long. Hold them together and fold in half. Tie… Read More
