The idea of a new start is always so appealing. It’s why we make new years resolutions and why I think Easter is still such a popular holiday even to the less religious of us (well, that and the promise of giant chocolate eggs of course!) The idea of a new period of time that will miraculously cure us of all our bad habits is appealing but really I think we all know that to realistically change something we have to put in the effort. That’s why this Easter I’m finally posting my first Styling the Seasons post!!
I’ve been meaning to post a little styled corner of my home for the project Katy and Charlotte started for quite some time now and actually I’ve previously put in the leg work, styled a surface and photographed it before chickening out at the last hurdle. Interior styling is something I’ve been pushing myself to improve and I’ve found it difficult to be confident in my learning process especially when there are so many gorgeous Styling the Seasons posts out there!
But this month is an spring special so with a fresh start in mind I want to break my old habits and start better new ones. I’m want to share my process for improving and I hope that in doing so it might just help someone else jump start their own new creative habits!
I decided to start simple. I chose my bed because now that spring is here the light is perfect and bounces around my crinkled bedsheets. I wanted to use bright but earthy colours. These crocuses had the perfect pop of colour embedded within the green shoots. I loved the contrasting browns of the textured biscuits next to the shiny, chocolate glaze of this earthenware mug that I picked up from a charity shop just a few days ago.
And then, because it is Easter we just had to get the bunny involved!
She was happily hopping around on the bed whilst I was trying to snap a fleeting still moment at the same time as unsuccessfully stopping her from eating the biscuits/flowers! The colour of her fur in the sun light is perfect, full of creams, browns, reds and white. She really went with the scene I’d set up!
At this point I also have to admit that as well as wanting to start new, better habits and finding any excuse to get the bunny on the blog, I have also had a little push to start my Styling the Seasons blog posts this month for another reason. For April Charlotte and Katy have teamed up with at{mine} to host a #stylingspringatmine event which sounds amazing! I almost don’t want to share this with you but click on the link to find out more about the event and how you can win a place!
I’m going to work hard to keep up this good habit and style another surface in my home next month. Why don’t you join me and start a good habit of you own this Easter?

Oh, how I love this and how happy I am that you’ve joined in! Love the freshness of the sheets contrasted with the earthy tones of the ceramic mug and crocuses. Just gorgeous! So look forward to you joining us every month xxx

I love the idea of those little flowers planted in the mug. And the bunny of course! Mine has a bad habit of weeing on the bed though, so he’s not allowed up, which breaks my heart!

I know that making changes can be hard but honestly I’ve done it and so have a lot of people I know. They will tell you that if you follow a simple plan, it’s not only doable but for a large majority also easy but you can visit https://www.rushessay.com/fast-essay-writing.php site for quality work there. The change I made in my own life was finding out about the concept of baby steps and how they can make all the difference in how successful you are at making real lasting changes in your life.
