I hope Monday has been good to you guys. I amazingly started off with the most productive morning which rapidly (/predictably) turned into me messing about on Instagram for second half of the day. I’ve started to realise I procrastinate most when I have to sit down and write. I’ve been putting off getting a few posts finished up mostly because I just don’t know where to start but also because I don’t know where to go once I’ve started.
As a blogger it seems a little ridiculous that I find it difficult to do the actual writing. Why start a blog of you don’t love to chat via a qwerty keyboard? To combat this fear of the first sentence I’ve been doing my research on how to put pen to paper successfully. In each article the best advice was to write more when you don’t want to write at all. Hmmmm sounds tricky. The most important idea is consistency. Writing everyday will improve your technique just as any other skill. For some reason I find this hard to get to grips with but starting tomorrow (always) I’ll be putting these plans into action and scribbling down my every thought!
While I ponder on that (and perhaps start writing something) here’s a few extra DIYs I’ve been whipping up around the web. I’ll be using the last one to start a journal and keep up to date with my new writing regime. That’s handy!
So we’ll see how that goes but for now do you have any useful tips to help me improve my skills? I’d love to hear them.
