Living in a rented flat it’s difficult to make a change to areas like the kitchen and bathroom without getting permission first. And even then, who wants to spend money on someone else’s apartment to be made to leave at a moments notice (the rental laws in the UK are awful). Apart from refitting, storing the old furniture and then refitting it when you leave (yeah, right.) you’re pretty much stuck with what you’ve got.
We’re really lucky. The couple we rent our flat off are lovely and have excellent taste! (I don’t think they’d be reading this, but it never hurts to butter up the owners!) Our kitchen is clean and white with a wooden work top. Simple and stylish, it’s definitely one of my favourite rooms yet I’d love to have to opportunity to add a few creative touches. But for now I’ll have to stick with non permanent changes which is why I love this round up of beautiful ways to brighten up you kitchen whether you rent or own!
