As you guys know, I never shy away from a potential marble project. And so if my new position as a DIY contributor to Design*Sponge was not exciting enough (!!) it gave me yet another chance to revisit one of my current favourite techniques. It’s marbled clay of course!
After using the marbled effect in a lot of other DIY’s I really wanted to create a different effect for this tutorial. I can’t help but be influenced by the changing seasons and as the evenings get darker and the weather more murky I find myself opting for darker colours over the more cheerful spring brights. In black these candle holders have a huge impact on their lighter surroundings and lit on a cold autumn evening look so luxurious and inviting.
To see how I made them head over to Design*Sponge to see the full tutorial!
Congratulations on becoming a DesignSponge contributor- it’s an amazing site!!
Congrats on contributing for Design Sponge! That is so exciting! And these are gorgeous.
Thanks Alexis!
Hi, Im from Denmark, and would love to make these candle holders. But I cant seem to find any clay anywhere. Its all in a borring grey color… Is it just normal clay that kids play with or is it some special clay?
Heidi
Hey Heidi! It’s called Polymer clay. You can get it on Etsy here and make all the things!
Well done and well deserved!
Thanks Claire!
