Before I get into introducing the second half of our group of wonderfully creative collaborators I just have to take a moment to gush. When I first launched the Kickstarter to raise the initial funds we needed to start We Make Collective I was so terrified that we would fail. Even though I knew that We Make Collective had the opportunity to be something quite special it was too hard to shake the feeling that no one would actually like this idea I’d been working on for the best part of the past six months. Of course these worries are only natural. Especially when your crowd funding and putting yourself out there. But trust me, knowing this doesn’t help to make it any easier.
What has made it easier is the support and kind words of all of our backers, friends and well wishers. I know that not everyone can afford to back us so I want to thank everyone, even those who sent a message or a pep talk to help keep us on track.
Yesterday the campaign ended £600 over our target! I am so excited to be able to put all of my ideas into action finally. Over the next few weeks there is a lot to do but I can’t wait to get started and I am really excited about seeing your ideas and creativity unfold over the coming months.
So far we have over 100 kits to post out!! If you missed the Kickstarter deadline don’t panic – we’re selling single kits and subscriptions over on We Make Collective for another two weeks. That will be your last chance to get the loom and access to our exclusive tutorials and members areas until next November when we open it up again for the next kit (I’m already so excited for that kit!
All that is left is to introduce you to the rest of our contributors. They will be helping us out together tutorials for the site and bringing amazing new ideas to create with each months kits contents. I’ve been chatting with them about this months ideas already and they are all going to be so good! Lots of different ideas and DIYs I’ve never seen before. You’re in for a treat!
Fiona – Craft Hunter
I love the contemporary feel of Craft Hunter. Fiona brings a fun style together with spot on design to make a site you just never want to leave! She does all that whilst working a full time job and a side business designing paper goods. Is there anything this girl can’t do?
