If you regularly read this blog you’ll know I’m a sun seeker. Give me a park on a sunny day and I’m happy as a clam, or a bunny, or that happy little chipmunk animal that has a leaf… and loves it (look it up on Pinterest). So a weekend in London with my mum and niece has become mostly a weekend in the park with a bit of shopping in between and while we were relaxing my niece, Noelia, taught me how to make these fishtail loom bracelets! She’s teaching me! Luckily I had my camera on hand and we decided to make a tutorial to post on the train home. They’re really fun to make and come together so quickly! You’ll be addicted before you know it.
Materials
Small elastic loom bands
“S” Clips
Instructions
1. Take one elastic band and twist into an infinity shape (or figure of 8).
2. You can use either you fingers or cylindrical object like pens to work on. I’m assured it’s easier on pens (later I find this is definitely true. Imagine me with the tips of my fingers going numb!) so hoop one end onto the pen.
3. Then hoop the other side onto another pen.
4. Put another band over the end of both pens without twisting.
5. And another one.
6. Pull the first loop on the pen (the twisted one from the start which should be the furthest down from the top of the pen) over the other two bands.
7. Then drop it down between the pens.
8. Do the same on the other side.
9. Put another elastic band over the end of the pens.
10. Take the first band (which was originally the second band on the pens) and stretch both sides over the rest and inbetween the pens just like the first band.
11. Keep repeating these steps. Every five or six bands pull the bands to stretch them out.
13. When you’ve reached the required length thread the end bands over your finger.
14. Get your “S” clip and slip the loops onto one side of it.
15. Take the end loops off one of the pens and thread them onto the other, then slip all of these onto the other side of the “S” clip.
16. Slide the bracelet off the pen and onto your wrist!
